Our evidence-based integrated-care approach reaffirms each man’s dignity. We seek to instill the self-discipline and behaviors that are prerequisites to self-sufficiency. By building Better Futures Minnesota into a work-training program and a profit-generating employer—through our reuse warehouse and supervised work crews that specialize in building deconstruction, building maintenance, appliance recycling, and janitorial services—we seek to demonstrate creative ways to place hard-to-employ men on a pathway to independence.
We believe change is a collaborative exercise. A coaching framework rooted in compassion, honesty, vulnerability, and a willingness to learn is essential for building a better future.
We are dedicated to helping those that have been incarcerated and are looking for successful reentry into society. Gaining employment with a felony isn’t easy but our program not only helps you gain future employment but provides you with a job through one of Better Futures Business lines.
Health and Wellness Engagement
Through partnerships with Hennepin Health, NorthPoint Health and Wellness, and MnSure, participants’ immediate mental and physical health needs are assessed and addressed through trauma-informed and culturally specific care.
Workforce Development
During the first weeks in the Better Futures model, men will receive on-the-job training and two industry-standard certifications—OSHA and forklift operations—that help set men on the path to successful employment and self-sufficiency.
Life Coaching and Compassionate Care
Mindful, compassionate, trauma-informed care is available to men and integrated into every aspect of our model, helping men build authentic relationships that are essential to building a vibrant community.
ReUse Warehouse
Once our participants complete their required online training certificates in OSHA 10, Fall protection, Bloodborne pathogens & hazard Training they are ready to work in one of our business lines.
Better Futures Minnesota seeks to disrupt this growing public health crisis through effective, compassionate practices and services that work to avoid victimization costs and provide men with the opportunities they need to become productive citizens, fathers, employees, and neighbors.
